Week 8 Journal
I think that most families probably have some functional and dysfunctional qualities to them. I know that my family is, for the most part functional. We do have our areas of dysfunction though. For instance, communication is slightly obscure for my family. We do yell quite a bit, but not always in an angry way. I had to re teach myself to not yell when I got out of my parents house. Other than that, we have a happy and wonderful family. We have our ups and downs as most families do, but we are always there for each other and over all a very happy and loving family. I can honestly say that there probably is no such thing as a "perfect" family. Some people may think that their family is perfect, but that right there could be their dysfunction. I believe that as long as a family is loving, caring, and there for one another, that they are a pretty functional family. All families have different situations that may contribute to their functionality or dis-functionality.
Week 10 Journal
A cause is something that makes something else happen.
An Effect is something that happens as a result of the cause.
The cause is something that happens first out of two events, the effect is what happens last. To determine the cause of something, you could ask "Why did it happen"? To determine the effect of something, you could ask "What happened"?
For example; Going for a jog and sweating. Why were you sweating? You were sweating because you went for a jog. What happened as a result of jogging? You were sweating.
Week 11 Journal
I think that the book The Glass Castle was a very good book, and an important book as well. I really feel that people could learn something from reading this book. Life is what you make it! I think that is a pretty great message, and to me this book really sends a message like that. Jeannette could have had a miserable life, and held a grudge against her parents forever. Who does that hurt though? Not her parents, it would hurt her. Luckily she took the lessons that she learned and the experiences; good or bad, and made something of herself! I think that is a pretty neat thing. Not everyone is able to overcome such a life and really turn it around.

Week 14
My writing and research process changes from time to time. I believe that depending on the subject, I will take things really seriously, or not so seriously. If I am researching something that I am really into, I might be a little bit more easy going about the whole thing. If I am researching something that I am not that into, I will probably try to take it a little more serious. I much prefer doing papers on things that I like, know about, and have had experience with. I feel more confident in my writing that way and overall I come up with a better paper! It is really nice when I get to pick my own research topic, how can I go wrong there? I truly enjoy learning about new things, but when it comes to an important paper I would rather stick with what I know. Sometimes when I have a new subject to study, I find something that I never knew I was interested in! I learn more when it is something that matters to me personally.

Week 13
We are talking about Logical Fallacies this week. This is quite an amusing subject to me! I notice people using logical fallacies all the time! Commercials are great for finding examples of logical fallacies. Infomercials are just killer to watch. Some promise you that you will become younger looking in just three days! Some promise you that you will have the body that you have always dreamed of, just by taking a pill once a day. Really?! If only, right? I wish that I could believe these things, or that they would actually work that way! Life would be pretty fantastic, wouldn't it?

Kittens!
I am writing about kittens today. The only cat that I have that is not spayed at this time, has done the unthinkable! She has gotten herself pregnant.. I can't say that I am TOO disappointed... I have always wanted my own kittens! BUT I am such an advocate of spaying and neutering your pets that I feel like I should be slapping myself right now. My excuse is that she is only 8 months old, and we have been in the moving process! I have been too darn busy to get my cat spayed. Anyways, I can't wait for baby kittens to come. I am going to have such a hard time, because knowing me, I will want to keep them all! I am such an animal lover.
Bloggin
We have been so busy getting settled in to our new place that I have not had time to do this blogging business. I have also been working hard at my job.. 14 hour days plus 2 and a half hours of driving could kill a person! I need a new job. Haha. I wish that I was not so busy these days. I would like to be doing other things than what is going on now. I want to travel and experience the world and I fear that I will NEVER have that opportunity. I don't know how some people can be so lucky?

Week Seven
I can not think of much that I would like to blog about. Of course, this could very well be because I hate to blog about anything. I got a new tattoo yesterday, that was the excitement of my weekend. I haven't gotten a new tattoo in almost three years! SO, it was a fun and exciting day, I am very excited to add to it. I am not at all ready for it to be Monday. I work 14 hour shifts on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday this week. I have school Tuesday and Thursday. I would very much like to never have to go to work again. I am dreading the week ahead of me, and I wish I could just skip over it.... I can't wait to find a new job. Anyone want to hire me?

I will admit, I am a facebook user. I like to check out what is going on and it is a form of entertainment for me. I do not check facebook every day, because a lot of the time, I am just too busy. It is strange how much some people use and are on facebook! I have friends that never get off! They have it on their phone, so they are able to check whenever they want. I do not believe that facebook is a bad thing at all. It helps people stay connected, and provides a form of entertainment. For some people, it may be a bad thing, but that is because they make it a necessity in their life. I agree with Alice Mathias in saying that if facebook no longer allowed us to sear privately, it would be a ghost town. I also agree that our generation is unusually comfortable with being looked at. My mom dreads facebook and can not believe the pictures and information people share over it. I always tell it's not a big deal, and tell her not to worry about it. I do see where she is coming from though. She would have never had all of her personal photos and information plastered all over a social networking page..

Week 5 blog
I am in the middle of buying my own place right now (very scary) . I am also very ill, I have been in and out of the hospital the last 2 weeks and am having a terrible time trying to keep up with everything. Hopefully I can somehow get back on track with school, moving, and work. I don't know why everything hits all at once, but that seems to be the way it goes for me. I can not wait for this semester to be over! Trying to work, go to school and buy a house is a little too crazy for me!

My first Blog for Spring Semester 2012
I am not much of a blogger, I never really have been all that into it. My sister, however, loves to blog and can be caught blogging multiple times daily. I am absolutely nothing like her. I enjoy writing, as well as many other things that have to do with English. I just have always preferred to keep my thoughts somewhat private. I am not one for sharing my feelings and thoughts about everything with everyone. What I am trying to say here; is that this blog is going to be one of the harder parts of this class for me. I like to read, I like to write freely, I enjoy doing reports on things of interest, and I like to learn new things. I LOVE documentaries and experiencing new things. I am really going to work on this blogging stuff, but I am positive that my feelings towards blogging will not change.
